Open Letter: Being The Change He Wished To See

For the first time in our company history, Red Ventures will formally observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a national day of service. We believe this change is important and overdue as we continue our efforts to get better every day and cultivate a more diverse, equitable and inclusive culture.

Martin Luther King Jr. strove against all odds to help America achieve its highest ideals. He advocated for race equality and an end to discrimination, while also speaking in support of labor unions and in defense of underrepresented populations. Dr. King was and remains a model for justice, compassion, resilience and inclusion.

His commitment to realizing a “dream” for America through nonviolent social change is a model that, now more than ever, we must remember and embrace. The work Dr. King began must be continued in our communities and improved upon from one generation to the next.

It is with that spirit we encourage each of you to view MLK Jr. Day as a day IN, not a day OFF; a day for plugging into your community and/or spending time in reflection.

In honor of Dr. King, and all those that he inspired, we ask you to take a moment to:

and –

At Red Ventures, we believe in the importance of keeping Dr. King’s mission alive and strong, and we’re empowered every day by the work we see happening within our RV communities.

Let’s continue uplifting one another and challenging ourselves to get better every day. In the words of Dr. King himself, “Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. This is the interrelated structure of reality.”
